Sport for Life Gala
Sport
Manitoba honoured the best in amateur sport on April
14, dishing out awards at the Sport for Life Gala
to the top young athletes, volunteers, coaches, and
officials in our province. But the most prized hardware
at the Fairmont belonged to Olympian Jennifer Botterill.
With an Olympic gold medal in tow, Botterill spoke
about her experiences at the 2010 Vancouver Games.

Grand Opening of Sport for Life Centre
Any
housewarming party with Premier Greg Selinger, a handful
of Olympians, and a vibrant 101-year-old swimmer sounds
like a great time. The house was the Sport for Life
Centre located at 145 Pacific Avenue and the party
was the Grand Opening of Sport Manitoba’s new
home. The public was welcome to take a tour of the
new facility that promises to improve amateur sport
in Manitoba, from grassroots to high performance.

Coaching Manitoba Excellence Awards
Coaches
will try not to play favourites, but that doesn’t
mean there aren’t favourite coaches. On the morning
of April 11, Coaching Manitoba honoured the top coaches
in the province at the Excellence Awards at McPhillips
Station Casino presented by Manitoba Lotteries.
