The 2010 Milt Stegall Scholarship Winners Announced

Each year, the MB Foundation for Sports presents bursaries to coaches and athletes who have demonstrated a commitment to sport while pursuing their education. This year, 17 individuals received awards, with the top two applicants winning the Milt Stegall Scholarship. Learn more about these exceptional athletes and coaches.

HALL OF FAME SPOTLIGHT

Frank Rigney

Lineman Rigney enjoyed an amazing ten year football career with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers from 1958-68 and had a remarkable broadcasting career with both CTV and CBC television. Sadly, Rigney passed away on June 29, 2010. His memory will live on in the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame and Museum.

What is Ciclovia?!

For the second year, this ECO-friendly, healthy lifestyles festival and active transportation initiative will close off streets from the north side of Broadway from Osborne to Main Street. This will create car-free streets so you can walk, run, blade, or bike all the way from Assiniboine Park to The Forks. Along the way there will be music, fun zones, markets, and more! Get moving and enjoy this unique event on September 12, 2010.

KidSport Fall Application Deadline

Next applications are due by October 15, 2010. If you, or someone you know, can't afford the cost of sport program registration fees, KidSport may be able to help. KidSport helps remove financial barriers that can assist children who are less fortunate participate in sport.
